Mix
Avignon Ceramic offers 4 main materials, to be selected according to technical characteristics of the piece to be obtained.
  • H -- 20 EQX : used for small ceramic cores, Equiaxe process, air or vacuum casting. Good behaviour during casting, good chemical leachability.
  • H -- 20 DS/SX : used for small ceramic cores, Directional Solidification or Single Crystal. Good behaviour during casting, good chemical leachability.
  • S -- 20 EQX : material showing high permeability, used for large ceramic cores, Equiaxe process, air or vacuum casting. Good behaviour during casting, good leachability with chemicals or water under pressure.
  • S -- 20 DS/SX : used for large and complex ceramic cores, Directional Solidification or Single Crystal. Good behaviour during casting, good chemical leachability.

Injection

Standard processes :
- High pressure
- Medium pressure (slurry).

On request : Pouring.

Firing
 Firing capacity : 14 kilns
Finishing

Avignon Ceramic has got :
- a manual finishing workshop
- a mechanized finishing workshop (CNC).

Inspection
Dimensional inspection
  • Classical equipments : calliper-square, palmer, profile projector, ...
  • Control gauges proper to some ceramic cores : Go-Nogo, ...
  • Electronic measuring station (pro-control) for big quantities,
  • Tri-dimensional machine to inspect mainly large and complex ceramic cores.
The inspection and registering frequency is agreed with the customer according to critical dimensions and process capability, and can go up to 100%.

Impregnation / Coating
Ceramic cores are fragile. They are therefore impregnated with a substance that strengthens them and prevent from any risk of breakage during carriage and handling.
In case of use of the ceramic core with reactive alloys (type Inconel 718, ...), Avignon Ceramic offers a specific coating. It is an inert alumina-based solution aimed at  preventing from any reaction between metal and ceramic.

Packing
The ceramic cores, now finished, inspected and impregnated, are ready to be packed and shipped to our customers.
Specific packagings according to ceramic cores type , strengthened for exportation.
